600 Survival Bags Distributed among SRA Staff, Employees

QUEZON CITY/ BACOLOD CITY – Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) employees and staff received survival bags created and distributed by the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, chaired by Board Member and Miller’s Representative, Ma. Mitzi Mangwag.

Survival bag distributions began in Visayas with 300 bags distributed within the Bacolod Office, continuing in Quezon City with another set of 300 bags, totaling to 600 survival kits distributed in Luzon and Visayas.

By January 2025, the distribution of the survival kits concluded, providing employees with necessary tools during disasters.

The survival bag included the following: first-aid materials, a fire blanket, malong, portable flashlight and radio, water container, whistle, multi-function tools, and rope, providing essential survival needs while giving space for customization for every employee.

Each bag was manually checked for the completion of tools before its distribution with volunteer checkers in each department furthering quality assurance. During the distribution, each employee was instructed to place the bags in strategic areas in case of emergencies.

A proactive initiative, the creation of SRA’s survival bags was prompted by the observation of SRA Administrator Paul Azcona in furthering the agency’s disaster risk preparedness. The provided survival bag is supplemented by the previously provided safety helmet.
