SRA Awards Cash Transfer Assistance to Rapid Propagation Project Nurseries in Bukidnon Mill District

BUSCO, BUKIDNON The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) through its Extension Services Division (ESD) awarded cash transfer assistance to two beneficiaries under the Rapid Propagation Project (RPP) Nurseries in the Bukidnon Mill District during activities conducted on May 26-27, 2026.
Recipients of the assistance were the Associated Bukidnon Sugarcane Farmers, Inc. (ABSFI), which received Php 1,600,000.00 for its approved 16-hectare nursery project and the United Sugarcane Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (USFACO), which received Php 854,280.00 for its approved 10-hectare project area. The activity was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Joel Ronario, OIC-Chief Agriculturist of the Extension Services Division for Luzon and Mindanao. Assisting in the implementation and awarding activities were project focal person Mr. Kent C. Untalan, Agriculturist II; Ms. Sherilyn D. Candelaria, Agriculturist I; Supervising Agriculturist for Mindanao Mr. Celso T. Ersando; Mill District Officer Mr. Johnny A. Agsaoay Jr.; and Mr. Hilario Sarmiento, Agriculturist II.
During the orientation, Mr. Ronario emphasized that the Rapid Propagation Project aims to increase the availability of SRA quality planting materials and improve sugarcane productivity across mill districts. Beneficiaries were likewise briefed on project implementation guidelines and proper liquidation procedures to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilization of government funds.
ABSFI Operations Manager Mr. Abner T. Balagulan expressed gratitude for the assistance received, saying, "Daghang salamat SRA for the fund." Meanwhile, Engr. Antonio C. Pizarro III of USFACO highlighted the importance of the support to their organization and members. "The fund will be a great help to the USFACO and its members. Daghang salamat," Engr. Pizarro said.
The cash transfer assistance is part of SRA's continuing efforts to strengthen the sugar industry by supporting farmer groups and cooperatives through sustainable interventions and improved access to quality planting materials.
