LEAF CHARACTERISTICS Medium width with long curve near tip to drooping green leaf blades. Leaf sheaths are green and waxy with soft sparse trichomes. It is self trashing.
STALK CHARACTERISTICS Medium size (2.81cm), cylindrical, greenish purple stalks with corky cracks. It has small flat round eyebuds.

OTHERS *Phil 97-0693 performs best in Ma-ao, La Carlota and Passi Mill Districts in LKg/Ha significantly outyielding Phil 8477 in Ma-ao and Passi, and Phil 8013 in La Carlota. The only variety that was never outyielded by the control varieties in TC/Ha, LKg/TC and LKg/Ha in 5 locations.
