SRA JOINS THE COMMEMORATION OF THE NATIONAL  DISABILITY PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION (NDPR) WEEK

 

The Sugar Regulatory Administration enjoins other government agencies in the conduct of relevant activities commemorating the 29th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week from July 17 -23, 2007 the theme of which is “Kapag May Access, May Success”.

The Office of the Deputy Administrator spearheaded the culmination of the said undertaking. During the Flag Raising Ceremony held last Monday, July 2, 2007 , Mr. Rafael  Mundo, Executive  Assistant IV, imparted to the group the significance of Proclamation 361 issued by the Office of the President declaring the third week of July as the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week. He also stressed that this shall culminate  on the birthday of our Sublime Paralytic, Apolinario Mabini on the 23rd of July..

Mr. Mundo took cognizant of the important development in the enactment of   Republic Act No. 9442, amending Republic Act 7277 other wise known as the “Magna Carta for Disabled Persons and Its Implementing Rules and Regulations “. He made mentioned of the inclusion of additional Chapter in R.A. 9442 explicitly enumerating privileges and incentives extended to persons with disability, the granting of similar benefits accorded to senior citizens.            
The highlight of the July 2 Flag Raising Ceremony was the rendition of songs performed by the  young boys and girls from the JOY FOUNDATION.
